The gearbox reconditioning process:

1. The gearbox is removed, its exterior is cleaned and examined for any damage.
2. If there is no visible damage, the gearbox is then dismantled to check that reconditioning is possible and assuming it is, all the components are sorted and prepared for cleaning. It may be that some parts will have to be replaced while others can be reworked; reworked parts are all  to original manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Once it has been reconditioned, the gearbox is rebuilt and reset to manufacturer’s specifications.
4. It then undergoes a final build test and inspection before being repositioned into the car for road testing.
